How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Before a film is released, there are different forms of advertising to help entice people to go and watch the film. This includes a film trailer, as well as a film poster and a magazine front cover to create a synergistic campaign.

I think that the combination of my main product and ancillary texts are very effective. As well as creating a film trailer we created two promo packs to accompany it we produced a film magazine front cover and poster. It was really important to combine the three so they relate to each other and create a cohesive theme. We have used the same colours throughout our trailer, magazine and poster, a combination of red black and white as they are strong bold colours that stand out and can also represent the horror genre. We used black and red throughout our trailer for the captions.

The main image on the magazine front cover we used in our poster subtly by placing it in the eye not to it stands out but so it is noticable.

We have also used the same font bison throughout for An Eye For An Eye like a brand so the audience recognises the connection between them all, we used it in the trailer on the poster and on the magazine.
