Throughout the project we have used a wide range of media of media technologies to construct the 3 products.
Throughout the whole project google was of use to me anything specific i needed to know i could search on google, it was especially useful during the research stages as i was able to research existing horror film posters and magazine front cover to give me an insight to conventions. I was also able to look up images for my mood board to give me inspiration. Youtube was also very helpful to search for horror film trailers to analyse in depth and use for my grids of nine. We also used it to convert our trailer to quick time, post it to you tube and then post it on our blogs.
I used scribd to upload my documents to then blogger to put all my work on. Using blogger was a very efficient and easy way to assemble my coursework as you can write posts, upload documents, add images and videos easily. I was also able to work from home any time on my blog. Was also able to produce a poll/questionnaire which really helped me gain audience feedback to improve my work.
After i had finished analysing and researching existing products we moved onto filming. We used a Sony handycam HDR-XR100 a hd video camera that we used to film everything, we also used a tripod to get the steady shots we needed. We also used the video camera to take pictures of locations ect.
Once all the footage was done we uploaded it to the apple computer then used the programme Adobe PremierPro to edit and put together all our footage to create our trailer. It allowed us to put the clips we wanted to use on a timeline and change them to the length that we needed then edit all of our clips and add audio, effects and captions, change the the lighting and speed up or slow down clips.
We also used Adobe photoshop cs4 and elements 8 to create and edit both our promo packs. Doing photography at school and using photoshop in AS media i felt confident in using it to create our ancillary products. It allowed us to crop the photos, change them black and white and by using such tools as the lassoo tool, text tool, dodge tool and using layers it helped to create a successful magazine front cover and poster.
